School of Music
The SOUND OF JOY SCHOOL OF MUSIC, INC. is an institution designed to provide instruction in piano, voice, music improvisation, theory, violin, guitar, and other components of music. Since 1983, Mr. Errol Adams Roach has worked tirelessly serve the community by providing affordable music lessons to individuals in Savannah and the surrounding areas. Our sole mission is to prepare students to glorify God through the ministry of music.

About
Professor Roach
Mr. Roach began playing the piano by ear at age 4 years old. He received his first piano lesson from Mrs. Carrie Rouse at age 9 and continued to study with the late Mrs. Victoria Davis until high school. His first performance as a musician, at age 11, was with the Garvin Temple Baptist Church choir (now Temple of Glory Community Church). He has served as musician and/or minister of music for many churches in Savannah and surrounding areas. Mr. Roach has performed with Jester Hairston (Deacon Frye in the sitcom, “Amen”), Douglass Miller, Dorinda Clark-Cole, John P. Kee, Dottie Peoples, Timothy Wright, Luther Barnes, Iris Stevenson, Mattie Moss Clark, Twinkie Clark, Darryl Coley, and more.
Mr. Roach received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Savannah State University and a Master of Music Education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, in Hattiesburg. He has also matriculated at the VanderCook College of Music, in Chicago, Illinois, and the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford, Connecticut. Mr. Roach also holds an Educational Specialist degree in Leadership from Cambridge College.
He taught music for Savannah- Chatham County Public Schools for 12 years, working at Gadsden Performing and Fine Arts Academy for 9 years as a piano keyboard instructor and director of the Gadsden Academy Chorus. While serving as an Assistant Principal at Windsor Forest High School, Mr. Roach organized the Inspirational Chorale which performed with Kirk Franklin in 2002. Mr. Roach holds membership in the National Association for Music Educators. He is also a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers and ASCAP. Mr. Roach provides training to choirs and musicians through workshops and seminars throughout the country and Mr. Roach was an adjunct professor at Savannah Technical College and Central Texas College. He is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia College. He is currently employed by the Liberty County School System as a Music Specialist at Waldo Pafford Elementary School in Hinesville, GA.

UPCOMING EVENTS
We kindly request that all registrants have their own keyboard or guitar for the summer camp. Keyboarding students must have earphones for independent practicing.
